A VO₂ Max number alone cannot tell you how much energy you require at rest. Body weight cannot show whether change came from muscle or fat. A generic heart-rate formula cannot identify exactly where your metabolic response begins to shift.

The Performance Assessment brings the relevant measurements together so training, nutrition, recovery, and retesting decisions can start from your physiology rather than population averages.

Is this one test or several tests?

It is a coordinated assessment made up of distinct resting, body-composition, exercise, respiratory, and lactate measurements. The value comes from interpreting those results together.

Is PNOĒ separate from VO₂ Max and RMR?

PNOĒ is the metabolic-analysis system used for respiratory testing and interpretation. VO₂ Max and RMR are separate protocols—one performed during progressive exercise and one performed at rest—within the larger assessment.

Do I need to be an athlete?

No. Exercise intensity progresses according to the selected protocol and your screened capacity. The assessment is useful whenever direct performance and metabolic measurements would improve decision-making.

Does lactate testing require blood?

Yes. It uses very small samples, generally collected from a fingertip or earlobe at defined stages of the exercise assessment.

Why include both RMR and InBody?

They answer different questions. RMR measures energy expenditure at rest. InBody estimates the distribution of muscle, fat, and body water. Neither substitutes for the other.

Can I repeat the assessment?

Yes. Repeating standardized measurements after an appropriate training or nutrition interval can help determine whether capacity, thresholds, metabolism, or body composition have changed.

Is maximal exercise testing appropriate for everyone?

No. Participation is subject to screening, and the testing protocol may be modified or deferred based on health history, symptoms, medications, or other relevant factors.

Will I receive a diagnosis or medical treatment plan?

No. This is a performance and metabolic assessment. Results may inform conversations with qualified health and fitness professionals but do not independently diagnose disease or replace medical care.
