Medical Weight Loss.

Physician evaluated · Delivered remotely · Updated 2026

Weight loss that is supervised rather than sold. An evaluation establishes whether medication is appropriate for you, and what happens alongside it matters as much as the prescription itself.

  • Physician evaluation before anything is prescribed
  • Prescription medication where it is clinically indicated
  • Body composition tracked, not just the number on the scale
  • Available across all fifty states, entirely remote

What It Is

The number on the scale hides the answer.

Losing weight and losing fat are not the same thing. In rapid weight loss a meaningful proportion of what comes off can be lean tissue, and lean tissue is what supports your metabolic rate, your strength, and your independence later in life.

That is why this programme is built around what you are losing rather than how fast. Medication where it is warranted, and measurement wherever it is available to you, so the change is the one you actually wanted.

Mass worth protecting

Things being measured

Why measurement matters here

  • Rapid weight loss can cost lean mass as well as fat
  • Lean mass supports metabolic rate and long term function
  • A scale cannot tell you which one you lost
  • Local members can track this directly with body composition scanning
How We Approach It

A reason, then a prescription.

Most online weight loss is a questionnaire attached to a checkout. The order matters, and running it the other way changes what you get.

We Evaluate First

Step one · before anything

A physician reviews your history, current medications, previous attempts, and what you are actually trying to change. Some people are not candidates, and they are told so.

  • Full history and medication review
  • Assessed against clinical criteria
  • An honest answer, including no

We Establish A Baseline

Step two · the starting point

Where you are starting from determines what progress looks like. For local members that means body composition scanning. Remotely, it means the measures available to you.

  • Starting point recorded rather than assumed
  • Body composition where you can access it
  • Progress measured against your own numbers

We Prescribe Where Warranted

Step three · treatment

Where medication is clinically appropriate it is prescribed and shipped to you. Where it is not, you will be told why, and usually what would help more.

  • Prescribed only where indicated
  • Expectations and side effects explained upfront
  • Pricing shown before you commit

We Follow Up

Step four · ongoing

Dose management, side effect review, and a defined point to reassess. An open ended subscription with no review is not medical care.

  • Scheduled review rather than open ended supply
  • Dose adjusted to your response
  • Stopping is a legitimate outcome
The Honest Part

What medication does, and what it does not.

Worth being clear about before you start, because expectations decide whether people stay with it.

01

Medication changes appetite, not habits

GLP-1 medications work substantially by reducing appetite and slowing gastric emptying. That is genuinely powerful and it is also not the same as changing what you eat or how you train. The people who keep the result are the ones who used the window to build something.

02

Lean mass is the thing to defend

Rapid weight loss can cost muscle alongside fat. Resistance training and adequate protein intake are what protect it, and neither of those comes in a prescription. This is the single most common failure in medically supervised weight loss.

03

Coverage varies considerably

Insurance coverage for these medications differs sharply by plan and by drug, and it changes. This is checked during evaluation rather than assumed, and pricing is shown before you commit to anything.

Who It Is For

And who it is not for.

Screened before anything is prescribed, and not appropriate for everyone.

People who have tried and not sustained it, and want to understand why

Anyone whose weight is affecting cardiovascular or metabolic markers

People who want the trade offs explained rather than a checkout

Anyone prepared to be monitored rather than prescribed and forgotten

Not appropriate with certain thyroid, pancreatic, or gastrointestinal conditions

Not appropriate during pregnancy or while breastfeeding

How It Works

What actually happens.

Four steps, and the first one can end it.

01

Complete the intake

An online assessment covering your history, medications, previous attempts, and goals. Around fifteen minutes.

02

Physician review

A licensed physician reviews your case and determines whether treatment is appropriate for you.

03

Treatment where indicated

If prescribed, medication ships to you with expectations and side effects explained upfront.

04

Follow up and reassess

Dose management and scheduled review, with a defined point to decide whether to continue.

What This Provides

Stated as process, not outcomes.

This describes what the programme does rather than what any medication will achieve for you. Individual response varies considerably.

01

A physician evaluation determining whether medication is appropriate at all

02

Review of your history, medications, and previous attempts

03

A clear statement of expectations and side effects before you begin

04

Prescription medication where clinically indicated

05

Coverage checked rather than assumed

06

Scheduled follow up with dose management

07

Body composition tracking available to local members

08

An honest answer where treatment is not appropriate

Worth Knowing

How this actually works.

Being clear about the arrangement, because most sites in this category are not.

The Arrangement

Longevity Gyms does not prescribe

Longevity Gyms is a non clinical performance and recovery facility. We do not prescribe medication and we do not provide medical care. This programme is delivered by a partnered telehealth practice with physicians licensed across all fifty states, and your clinical relationship is with them rather than with us. Your evaluation, prescription, records and follow up all sit with that practice. We state this plainly because you should know who is responsible for your care before you begin.

Frequently Asked

Questions answered.

Will I be prescribed a GLP-1?

Only if a physician determines it is appropriate for you. Eligibility depends on your clinical picture rather than on wanting it, and some people are told no. That is what makes the evaluation worth doing.

Will I lose muscle?

You can, and it is the main risk worth managing. Rapid weight loss costs lean tissue alongside fat unless resistance training and protein intake are addressed. If you are local, body composition scanning tells you exactly what you are losing.

Is it covered by insurance?

It varies sharply by plan and by medication, and it changes. Coverage is checked during your evaluation rather than assumed, and you will see pricing before committing.

What happens when I stop?

Weight regain after stopping is common and well documented. This is worth understanding before you start, and it is why what you build during treatment matters more than the treatment itself.

Do I need bloodwork?

Sometimes, depending on your history and what is being considered. You will be told at intake rather than surprised later.

How fast will I lose weight?

We will not give you a number. Response varies considerably by individual, and any site promising a specific figure is selling rather than treating.

Can I combine this with a membership?

Yes, and for local members it is the version worth doing. Body composition scanning during weight loss tells you whether you are losing fat or lean mass, which is the most useful thing to know and the thing almost nobody measures.

Who prescribes?

A licensed physician at our partnered telehealth practice. Longevity Gyms does not prescribe medication.

What if I do not qualify?

You will be told, with the reasoning, and usually with something more useful than a prescription would have been.
